What Is Included in Commercial Green Landscaping Equipment

July 20, 20263 Mins Read Garden

If you look around, you’ll see how Mother Nature has created some of the most spectacular landscapes. Most of these landscapes thrive without any human intervention. But sometimes humans need to intervene to ensure the landscape meets the unique needs of the people who use it.

Professional landscapers do that heavy lifting as they design, install, and maintain outdoor environments to create functional spaces. And they do it using certain tools we’ll mention in this article.

    Let’s get started.

    Manual Hand Tools

Rugged manual tools are an important part of commercial green landscaping equipment. Even with all the machinery,  certain jobs can’t be finished without human intervention. This is especially true in commercial settings that require complicated pruning. The most commonly used tools are rakes, edgers, square-point shovels, and even bypass pruners.

A shovel is a very common tool as contractors use it all the time to dig holes. Wood-handled shovels work fine, but modern professionals prefer steel or fiberglass handles for commercial jobs.

Similarly, rakes are also very common. Level-headed steel rakes are used for tougher jobs like moving gravel, whereas a lighter leaf rake is best for managing lightweight debris.

    Handheld Power Equipment

These machines are handheld by contractors and require electrical power to operate. They’re technological innovations that perform complex tasks in a short amount of time. For example, contractors use string trimmers and edgers to control weeds. They can also trim hard-to-reach areas around trees.

We then have high-capacity blowers used for rapid clearance of grass and leaves. Hedge trimmers are available in single- or double-sided blades. They’re frequently used to shape shrubs and hedges.

Lastly, pole saws are long-reach tools that professionals use to prune high branches. They can also be used to remove overgrowth without climbing on the tree.

Turf Care and Soil Preparation Tools

Before growing anything on the soil, it is prepared and leveled so that the plantation can thrive quickly. This is also done through cutting-edge machinery and tools.

For example, aerators & dethatchers are used to punch holes in the soil. The dead thatch is also stripped so that the soil can absorb water more easily. We then have spreaders and sprayers used for the even application of seeds. Tillers are heavy-duty machines that break up and turn over the earth for new garden beds.

Compact utility loaders are mini skid steers that haul heavy materials (when the area is messy and requires thorough cleaning).

    Commerical Mowers

If the turf area is large, professionals may need stand-on mowers. They’re highly maneuverable and can efficiently meet complex mowing demands. We then have walk-behind mowers used for gated or complex properties.

It’s important to note that these mowers are operated by experts who receive proper training on these machines. A general landscaper who works in simple commercial settings may not know how to operate these. They call specialized experts when the need arises.

    Final Thoughts

The right equipment makes all the difference in whether the landscaping job will go smoothly. Whenever you hire a landscaper, always check the quality of their equipment to ensure your outdoor space looks just the way you imagined.
